NRA Basic Rifle Course: Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing and kneeling positions; cleaning, and continued opportunities for skill development.

Course length: Two days - 14 hours

Basic Pistol Course: Students learn the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for safely owning and using a pistol. Whether experienced or new to shooting, all students benefit from this class's practical skills development exercises.

Course length: 9 hours.

North Carolina Concealed Carry Course: This Course provides students the NC DOJ required training program in the use of deadly force, carrying a concealed handgun, and demonstration of proficiency in the use of the handgun.

Individuals must provide and use the handgun, ammunition and holster or other carrying device they will use for Concealed Carry.

Small classes allow additional focus and range time on skills proficiency, firearm presentation practice and drills, as well as extended concentration on the legal aspects of using deadly force.

Successful completion of the NRA Basic Pistol course offered by SWGC is a prerequisite for entering this class.

Upon successful completion, the student will receive the certificate needed for applying for a NC Concealed Carry Permit.

Course is conducted for new and existing members of Sir Walter Gun Club on range and firearms safety and is taught and managed by the Gun Club for Club Members and prospective Members.

Registration is required one week in advance before the class so we may determine the class size or if no class will be required. Please e-mail us at:
